Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in the Company’s accounting processes, working to continually elevate the Company’s high standards. This position will offer high visibility to leadership, provide an immediate impact to the monthly financial close procedures, and assist in the creation of detailed supporting schedules. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for completing various accounting and reporting tasks, provide detailed analyses, maintenance of a subset of schedules, and development and completion of reconciliations for both balances sheet and income statement accounts.

Essential Job Functions for the Senior Accountant will include:

  • Directly contribute to month end close procedures:
    • Prepare journal entries for multiple entities and supporting general ledger account reconciliations
    • Maintain detailed schedules and subledgers
    • Prepare and manage payroll reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and accrual accounting
    • Review and validate work completed by Staff Accountant
    • Adhere to required internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Provide accurate reporting and data verification for both internal and external parties
  • Assist in researching and preparing technical accounting positions in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Support periodic (monthly and quarterly) balance sheets and income state analyses
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function
  • Assist in preparation of external audit and tax requests
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP guidelines
  • Public accounting experience with a recognized firm
  • CPA Certification
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their practical application
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, experience with NetSuite is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and elevate the current standards
  • Acute attention to detail, eager
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Motivated and coachable individual

Travel: Minimal Travel, 0 to 15%

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8am to 5pm standard working hours

Working Conditions: Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting.
