The New Partner Success Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of “One Mercer” to newly acquired firms. Partnering with project managers from New Partner Integration and key functional leaders from Wealth Solutions, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Human Resources and Technology, this role will be the “orchestra conductor” ensuring a thoroughly coordinated effort, with elevated experiences for the new Mercer team members, as well as the market they are joining. Assisting with coordination, communications, reporting, issue escalation and growth activation, this is a multi-faceted role that will have a high degree of visibility with key stakeholders across Mercer and provide a unique vantage point into the inorganic growth engine of Mercer. Additionally, this role will grow to provide exposure to the M&A process, including participation in management meetings with prospective acquisitions, operating as a key voice in the discussions and sharing the positive experience newly acquired firms can expect, from our high-level processes during integration to post-integration support for growth and acclimation. For highly complex integrations, this role may also be involved with the development of new processes and / or assist with launching new businesses into Mercer, in partnership with Wealth Solutions and Technology.

The guiding principles for this position will include driving transparent and well-coordinated efforts across Mercer to the benefit of newly acquired firms, supporting the integration team to methodically, efficiently and effectively incorporate new businesses into Mercer, identify new ways to drive more thoughtful and rapid integrations to achieve value while also promoting standardization, economies of scale and effective risk management. The New Partner Success Program Manager must be highly organized, have working knowledge of the RIA ecosystem (including key technology and operations routines, or aptitude to learn), believe in the Mercer approach to service clients (planning-led, fiduciary) and genuinely enjoy engaging with others as a servant leader. Moreover, the position requires outstanding communication skills, including understanding the “audience”, promptness, patience and clarity, and superior attention to detail.

Essential Job Functions for the M&A Integration Project Manager will include:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end integration process to effectively communicate it out to prospective firms during the sales process, guide newly acquired firms through their journey, and to find ways to improve the process
  • Elevate the experience of acquired firms (beginning with their first impression during pre-LOI meetings through to becoming a Mercer employee) by being their primary point of contact and finding ways to continually improve their day-to-day interactions with all Mercer teams
  • Assist in the development and ongoing management of new program tracking routines to provide transparency to all in-flight integrations. These routines will be shared with leaders across Mercer and may be provided to sub-committees of Mercer’s board of directors. Sample deliverables include an integration calendar, weekly integration status reports and integration issue tracking
  • Drive innovation in the integration process and actively seek ways to integrate firms more quickly. As an active participant and driver of key efforts in the “T-60” project, find ways to achieve our goal of fully integrating firms at deal close. This may include partnering with our key technology vendors to drive creative solutions to current limitations
  • Develop a feedback loop with key functional partners to drive continuous improvement, with a focus on the timing and impact of their steps in the integration process
  • Contribute to making New Partner Success a competitive differentiator in the marketplace; may provide opportunities to represent Mercer at industry events, speaking to the power of our function
