Job Summary:

The Procurement Director is responsible for overseeing the firm-wide procurement process, negotiating contracts, and generating cost savings. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, curating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The Procurement Director will work closely with the Vice President, FP&A and a wide variety of business leaders across tech, legal, and finance to align procurement activities with the company's financial goals.

Essential Job Functions for this role include:

Developing Effective Processes and Procedures

  • Develop procurement processes to support an aggressively growing business.
  • Implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Analyze market trends and conduct cost-benefit analyses to identify opportunities for savings.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Support budgeting process and align procurement practices to budget expectations and long-range plans.
  • Report detailed activities and savings to senior leaders

Contract Management

  • Work with the business and tech leaders to help translate functional requests and system specifications into contract language.
  • Incorporate established system SLAs into contracts.
  • Manage the contract renewal process and Facilitate contract reviews with all stakeholders ensuring contracts contain terms and conditions favorable to the company.
  • Collaborate with the third-party risk committee to ensure risks are mitigated with contract language if needed.

Business Leader Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coach business partners on effective procurement practices.
  • Work with business leaders to help translate functional requirements into demo scorecards and RFP requirements
  • Understand business needs and monitor industry landscape for potential 3rd party solutions to address.
  • Write RFPs that encompass business requirements and technical specifications and coordinate a review of the RFP with the business and technology stakeholders.
  • Facilitate product demonstrations to ensure the value of the third-party’s offerings are clearly understood and facilitate review the demonstration scorecards with the business.
  • Coordinate with IT resellers to acquire competitively priced technology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • 7+ years’ experience in Procurement, Vendor Management, Security, and Financial Services Industry
  • Vendor negotiations (Enterprise SaaS, Software, Hardware)
  • Partnership management (Travel, Rewards, Logistics)
  • RFP creation, Contract Management, and DEMO facilitation
  • Ability to lead and procurement as function owner.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to influence.
  • Wealth Management, Finance, or FinTech industry experience.
  • Experience with and understanding of information security regulations and organizational policies.
  • Exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, facilities management, and outsourced systems.

Work Schedule:

This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.

Working Conditions:

This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs. Travel assumed up to 10% of the time.

Location: This position can be fully remote, but have preference for the Boston area.
