Job Summary:

This position is responsible for various aspects of managing third-party asset management platforms, as well as supporting custodian and client service needs for asset management activities. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of experience in an investment management environment.

Essential Job Functions for the Portfolio Operations Specialist will include:

  • Advises internal trading team, outside asset managers, and investment platforms to ensure client needs are met and accounts are invested correctly
  • Reviews accounts to ensure accuracy, proper record keeping, and conformance to Mercer Advisor’s asset allocation policies
  • Configures accounts to implement Mercer Advisors strategies on third-party systems
  • Assists client service teams in understanding outside asset managers and systems
  • Works with separate account managers to ensure timely and appropriate strategy implementation
  • Monitors third-party asset management platforms to ensure proper trading and asset allocations
  • Works closely with the Compliance and Investment Strategy Departments to implement company standards, educating client service teams, and escalating requests outside of these standards
  • Assists client service teams with reallocation of investment strategies in client portfolios
  • Interacts with client service teams to resolve issues on third-party systems
  • Must be able to troubleshoot with creativity and latitude
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma required
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution strongly preferred (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance related)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a professional investment management environment preferred
  • Experience with Envestnet systems helpful
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access helpful


Work Schedule
: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 4:00PM

Working Conditions:
Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a work station, no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
