Description

The Corporate Director, Radiology Infrastructure & Business Support provides systemwide leadership for the infrastructure, technology, capital planning, and business support functions that enable diagnostic and interventional radiology and imaging services across Emory Healthcare.

  • This role is responsible for planning and coordinating imaging capital investments, equipment lifecycle management, informatics platforms, digital imaging technologies, and operational business support that sustain imaging services across hospitals, emergency departments, and ambulatory imaging locations.
  • Working in close partnership with Senior Directors of Radiology Operations, physician leadership, operating unit executives, and system partners, this role ensures that imaging infrastructure, technology platforms, and capital investments effectively support systemwide imaging operations and long-term growth priorities.
  • The Corporate Director collaborates extensively with Emory Healthcare (EHC) central teams including finance, supply chain, digital, PDCA, and business development to support imaging expansion, modernization of technology platforms, and development of new care delivery models across the system.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Infrastructure Planning

  1. Collaborate with the SVP Radiology and system leadership to develop and execute radiology capital, equipment, and infrastructure strategies that support systemwide imaging operations.
  2. Translate system growth priorities and imaging demand forecasts into infrastructure and technology planning initiatives.
  3. Partner with Senior Directors of Radiology Operations, modality directors, and operating unit leaders to ensure infrastructure and business support strategies align with clinical and operational priorities.
  4. Support systemwide radiology governance structures by providing leadership related to infrastructure planning, technology adoption, and vendor strategy.

Capital, Equipment & Facilities Strategy

  1. Lead development and coordination of imaging capital planning initiatives that support systemwide radiology operations.
  2. Oversee imaging equipment lifecycle management including utilization monitoring, vendor partnerships, maintenance strategy, and replacement planning.
  3. Lead radiology participation in imaging facility design, planning, construction, and modernization initiatives across hospitals and ambulatory imaging locations.
  4. Coordinate equipment procurement, installation planning, and facility readiness to support new imaging programs and service line expansion.

Technology, Informatics & Digital Imaging Platforms

  1. Provide leadership for radiology informatics and digital imaging platforms through oversight of the Director of Informatics and associated teams responsible for imaging workflow systems, PACS platforms, third-party imaging applications, and radiologist workflow technologies.
  2. Maintain oversight of imaging workflow infrastructure including Imaging Workflow Specialists (IWS), Imaging Workflow Analysts (IWA), and Imaging Workflow Exchange (IWE) teams that support radiologist workflow and operational efficiency.
  3. Provide radiology leadership for digital imaging strategy and platform optimization in partnership with EHC digital and IT teams.
  4. Provide radiology oversight for data governance related to imaging platforms in partnership with EHC digital teams and clinical partners.
  5. Lead radiology participation in system innovation initiatives related to imaging technology platforms, workflow infrastructure, and digital transformation across diagnostic and interventional imaging services.

Financial Planning & Business Support

  1. Partner with Radiology Operations leadership and EHC Finance to support financial planning, capital investment analysis, and business case development for imaging services.
  2. Lead development of financial models and return-on-investment analyses for imaging technology investments, infrastructure initiatives, and initiatives that support system service line growth.
  3. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to optimize vendor relationships, service agreements, and technology procurement strategies.
  4. Lead radiology vendor strategy in partnership with supply chain and system leadership.

Systemwide Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership

  1. Partner with operating unit leadership, service line leaders, physician leaders, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure imaging infrastructure, capital investments, and technology platforms support systemwide clinical and operational priorities.
  2. Collaborate with radiology operations leadership, modality directors, and site leaders to align infrastructure planning, technology deployment, and capital investments with operational performance, access, and throughput goals.
  3. Work closely with enterprise partners including EHC digital and IT teams, finance, supply chain, construction, and business development to coordinate infrastructure initiatives supporting imaging services across hospitals, emergency departments, and ambulatory locations.
  4. Engage physicians, clinical programs, and system leaders to ensure imaging technologies and infrastructure investments support evolving care models and growth of diagnostic and interventional imaging services.
  5. Collaborate with EHC business development teams and Emory Healthcare Network (EHN) affiliates to support imaging expansion and referral growth from affiliated and independent physician practices.

Workforce Leadership

  1. Provide leadership and development for directors and project management teams responsible for imaging infrastructure, informatics, and business support functions.
  2. Oversee project managers responsible for imaging facility development, equipment implementation, and infrastructure initiatives.
  3. Foster a collaborative leadership culture that supports integration between radiology operations, infrastructure teams, and system partners.

Quality, Safety & Regulatory Collaboration

  1. Ensure imaging infrastructure, equipment, and technology platforms support systemwide radiology quality and safety standards.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to imaging equipment, technology systems, and facility infrastructure.

Additional Duties as Assigned.

Travel: Travel between Emory Operating Units or Emory Affiliated Sites

Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education - Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field

Experience - Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, imaging services, healthcare technology, or related infrastructure roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred.

Experience - Experience leading complex, multi-site healthcare initiatives involving capital planning, technology implementation, or infrastructure development strongly preferred.
