The Ambulatory Clinic Education Specialist serves as a departmental education partner supporting onboarding, training, and ongoing education for ambulatory clinic teams. This role ensures clinic staff have the necessary knowledge of workflows, systems, and operational processes to effectively perform their roles and support clinic operations.
Working closely with clinic leadership and shared services departments, the Education Specialist develops and delivers training resources, supports workflow standardization, and provides ongoing guidance to clinic staff. This position also serves as a liaison between clinic sections and central departments to ensure consistent communication, training, and operational alignment.
Develop strong working relationships with clinic leadership teams to support educational initiatives and operational needs.
Develop comprehensive knowledge of clinic workflows and operational processes to support both onboarding and continuing education.
Collaborate with clinic leaders to develop and maintain onboarding documentation and educational resources that ensure consistent training for new staff.
Create and maintain training materials and educational content for systems and applications used within the department.
Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing educational support for clinic staff.
Develop in-depth knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure training materials align with operational workflows.
Assist leadership teams in developing and documenting standard work and workflow processes.
Recognize and adapt to workflow variations across different clinic locations while supporting consistent training practices.
Utilize multiple communication methods and forums to ensure staff receive timely and accurate operational updates.

Patient Financial Services
Patient Experience
Other operational partners
Support consistency in training methods and communication across departments.
Provide ongoing support for clinic staff by addressing workflow questions, system issues, and training needs.
Deliver remote and one-on-one support for end users as needed.
Serve as a liaison between clinic sections and central departments to facilitate issue resolution and operational alignment.
Successfully complete the assigned Epic training curriculum.
Serve as an Epic Super User, providing guidance and support to clinic staff and other super users in the ambulatory clinic environment.
Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations and educational initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in education, training, healthcare administration, or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in education, training, or staff development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and operational teams.
Proficiency using training and communication platforms such as:
Zoom
Microsoft Teams
Microsoft PowerPoint
Other virtual training tools.
Ability to develop and deliver training materials, presentations, and workflow documentation.
Ability to support multiple clinic teams and adapt training approaches to different operational environments.
