
Performs all responsibilities of Anesthesia Technologist I and II while providing advanced clinical and technical support to anesthesia providers.
Assists with invasive monitoring procedures and supports high-acuity patient care.
Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots complex anesthesia-related equipment.
Serves as a clinical resource for staff members.
Participates in staff training, mentoring, and departmental initiatives.
Maintains strict adherence to safety and infection control standards in a dynamic surgical environment.
Clinical Support
Assists anesthesia clinicians with the insertion of invasive hemodynamic monitoring lines for patients with complex medical conditions.
Technical Equipment Support

Assists with the setup, operation, and maintenance of advanced equipment, which may include:
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
Continuous Cardiac Output (CCO) monitoring systems
Follows established protocols for equipment inspection and maintenance.
Conducts diagnostic tests on equipment to verify optimal functionality.
Performs troubleshooting and corrective actions to prevent hazardous situations.

Assists with the setup, operation, and maintenance of specialized systems, including:
Rapid blood/fluid infusion equipment
Prostacyclin vasodilator delivery systems
Blood salvage systems
Performs daily diagnostic testing on ventilators to ensure readiness for patient use.
Patient Care
Manages and supports patients with complex and multifaceted health conditions.
Collaborates closely with anesthesia providers to address patient-specific needs.
Anticipates and prepares for less predictable clinical scenarios and outcomes.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
Actively participates in the orientation and mentoring of new staff members.
Participates in or leads departmental and facility-wide committees.
Serves as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for staff.
Safety and Infection Control
Adheres to sterile technique principles and infection control policies.
Supports and maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
Performs additional related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience:
Three (3) years of experience as an Anesthesia Technologist.
Two (2) years of cardiac anesthesia experience.
Successful competency-based evaluation.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with knowledge of medical, surgical, and anesthesia terminology.
Proficiency in sterile techniques and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot anesthesia-support equipment and patient monitoring systems.
