Job Summary The PRN Magnet Program Consultant is a specialized, project-based role within Emory Healthcare that provides expert guidance to Nursing leadership in advancing Magnet readiness and sustaining alignment with ANCC Magnet Recognition Program standards. This role supports Magnet designation and redesignation efforts through evidence development, narrative writing, gap analysis, staff engagement, and preparation for Magnet documentation and appraiser site visits. The position operates on an as-needed (PRN) basis and is activated based on organizational Magnet milestones and project phases. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Magnet Standards & Program Consultation 1. Provide expert consultation on ANCC Magnet standards, sources of evidence, empirical outcomes, and structural empowerment requirements. 2. Serve as a subject matter expert on the Magnet Model, including transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge, and outcomes. 3. Translate Magnet standards into actionable guidance for nursing leaders and frontline teams. Evidence Development & Gap Analysis 1. Conduct Magnet gap analyses to identify opportunities related to nursing quality, professional development, shared governance, nurse engagement, and professional practice. 2. Support the development, refinement, and validation of Magnet narratives, exemplars, and supporting documentation. 3. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment of evidence across nursing domains and Magnet sources of evidence. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement 1. Collaborate with Nurse Leaders, Shared Governance Councils, Professional Practice Councils, Professional Development, and Quality/Patient Experience teams to advance Magnet deliverables. 2. Partner with interdisciplinary stakeholders to align nursing outcomes with Magnet expectations and organizational priorities. Magnet Appraiser & Site Visit Preparation 1. Assist in preparing units and leaders for Magnet appraisers, including staff readiness, rounding strategies, documentation review, storytelling, and outcome demonstration. 2. Coach leaders and staff on how to confidently articulate the Magnet story and demonstrate nursing excellence during appraiser interactions. Data Review & Outcomes Alignment 1. Review and interpret nursing-sensitive indicators, workforce outcomes, recruitment and retention strategies, and patient outcome data to ensure alignment with Magnet requirements. 2. Support leaders in understanding how quality, engagement, and workforce metrics connect to Magnet expectations. Coaching & Program Support 1. Provide coaching to frontline nurses and leaders on professional practice, shared governance, and Magnet principles. 2. Participate in Magnet planning meetings and provide PRN support based on organizational needs, timelines, and project phase. Travel: Travel between Operating Units May be Required Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office. Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Master's degree in nursing (MSN) required. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of nursing leadership experience with demonstrated involvement in Magnet-related initiatives. Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required) 1. In-depth knowledge of ANCC Magnet Recognition Program standards and sources of evidence. 2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret nursing quality, workforce, and patient outcome data. 3. Exceptional writing skills for Magnet narratives, exemplars, and documentation. 4. Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to coach leaders and frontline staff. 5. Strong organizational and project management skills in a complex healthcare environment. 6. Ability to work independently in a consultative, PRN capacity Preferred Qualifications Experience: 1. Prior direct experience contributing to Magnet designation or redesignation is strongly preferred. 2. Prior experience supporting Magnet site visits, narrative submission, or redesignation cycles. 3. Experience working in large, complex healthcare systems. Certification: ANCC board certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC, or applicable specialty certification) preferred.

Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
