Description

The Epic Revenue Cycle Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, build, governance, and quality of enterprise Revenue Cycle training across Emory Healthcare. This role owns curriculum standards, training environments, and instructional quality, while providing oversight and coaching for Epic Revenue Cycle Credentialed Instructors. The position partners closely with Revenue Cycle Operations, Emory Digital, and Quality Assurance to ensure training accurately reflects real-world workflows and Epic system build.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Training Environment & Curriculum Ownership
  • Own build, maintenance, and governance of Epic Revenue Cycle training environments.
  • Develop standardized curriculum including ILT, e-learning, reference guides, and upgrade education.
  • Ensure curriculum reflects approved workflows and system design.

Leadership & Instructor Oversight

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to Credentialed Instructors.
  • Observe training delivery and address gaps in facilitation or content accuracy.
  • Serve as escalation point for instructor workflow and content questions.

Operational & Application Partnership

  • Partner with operational leaders to translate workflow changes into training content.
  • Collaborate with Emory Digital analysts to understand build decisions and training impacts.

Upgrades & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead training impact assessment for Epic upgrades.
  • Partner with QA to analyze performance trends and implement targeted education.

Program Governance

  • Establish documentation, version control, and training standards.
  • Ensure consistency across hospital and professional Revenue Cycle teams.
  • Additional Duties as Assigned. Travel:
  • Minimal Work Type: Remote/On-site as operationally required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent healthcare experience Experience
  • 2+ years in instructional design, training, or QA; Epic Revenue Cycle experience Certification:
  • Epic Revenue Cycle certification preferred or required within 90 day timeframe of first available training Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills for training analytics and reporting
  • Experience developing e-learning or video-based training
  • Experience with LMS tools and curriculum governance
  • Familiarity with learning effectiveness measurement models


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs., 0-33% of the work day (occasionally) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
