Position Summary:
Manages the staff that provides the delivery of patient care for a group of patients relating to ambulatory care units. Directs and delegates patient care assignments to the health team via Nurse Managers based on patient care needs. Collaborates with the CNO, Nursing Directors, and members of management to insure appropriate resources to internal/external customers. Exhibits an ongoing commitment to quality. Serves as advocate on behalf of staff and patients/families. Serves as a leader and mentor for staff. Works in establishing collegial relations with physicians. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies impacting nursing care. Responsible for analyzing, directing, and evaluating the provision of patient care, treatment, and services in the departments. Manages the financial, business, and ethical aspects of the departments. Acts in place of the Chief Nursing Officer when assigned. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of Emory Healthcare.
Education & Training:
Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor in Nursing required. Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing, business administration, finance, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years clinical plus three (3) years of progressive management/leadership experience in quality, performance improvement, and regulatory requirements. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible senior nursing leadership experience preferred.
Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current US state RN license with authorization to practice in the state of GA. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification.
