Description

SUMMARY:

  • Functions as a professional liaison between Emory Healthcare and regulatory, accrediting, membership-based organizations, and affiliated educational facilities/institutions regarding credentialing and credential verification.
  • Builds relationships with internal customers and client groups and liaises with Human Resources business partners (HR BP) to deliver consistent and high-quality customer service.
  • Accountability for compliance in accordance with accreditation standards and credentialing required by law, regulation or hospital policy.
  • Actively develops and maintains a working knowledge of the requirements (laws, regulations, policy, and guidelines) related to credentialing and credential verification.
  • Position is characterized by the ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments and identify solutions to challenges as they occur in a growing environment.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Participates in, coordinates and implements special projects, as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and verify the credentials of healthcare professionals, ensuring all licenses and certifications are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of healthcare regulations and standards to ensure the organization meets all compliance requirements.
  • Accurately record and update credentialing information in the organizations database, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring all credentialing documentation is complete and readily accessible.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies to resolve any credentialing issues or discrepancies.
  • Generate regular reports on credentialing status and compliance metrics for management review.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in credentialing and compliance monitoring.
  • Assists in developing training and documentation related to processes and audits.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or related field.

Experience:

  • Two (2) progressive experience in human resources, healthcare compliance, auditing or regulatory affairs or healthcare related experience in workforce compliance, records management, auditing or statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • OR in lieu of Associate's degree, 4 years total of relevant experience mentioned above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in Human Resources through workshops, seminars, or course work.
  • SPHR, PHR or Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP) certification.
