Description

Join Our Team as an IT Project Manager IV – Facilities Growth & Expansion

Emory Healthcare is growing—and we’re looking for an experienced IT Project Manager IV to help make that growth possible. This role is part of our dynamic PMO team, leading technology efforts that power new facilities, expansions, acquisitions, and renovations across our health system.

If you thrive at the intersection of technology, construction, and healthcare operations, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact. As an IT Project Manager IV, you’ll:

  • Partner early in the design and construction process to ensure technology is seamlessly built into every new space.
  • Define and apply IT and infrastructure standards across all facilities projects.
  • Lead full lifecycle project management—from planning and budgeting through go-live and operational support.
  • Coordinate with design teams, permit boards, construction managers, and clinical leaders to deliver high-quality, connected spaces.
  • Oversee deployment schedules, network planning, testing, and support for Epic go-lives and other major initiatives.

Bring your experience managing IT for facility moves, additions, and renovations in complex healthcare environments—and help shape the future of Emory Healthcare’s connected care experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates, plans, supports, and executes groups (or programs) of enterprise-wide IT projects.
  • Provides strategic input for project plan development, budget, and scope for each project in the program.
  • Establishes and support the processes and standards involved with the program portfolio or projects.
  • Manages the Project Management Life Cycle from beginning to end and establishes cohesion for achieving multi-disciplinary stakeholder and project team buy-in.
  • Applies industry-accepted methodologies (i.e., Project Management Institute [PMI]) to ensure adherence to project management standards and requirements and to provide stakeholders with continual reports on project progress and performance.
  • Meets with stakeholders to validate business cases and to gather facts for establishing and gaining agreement on project charters.
  • Creates project charters and analyzes business cases to validate and clarify issues, justify use of project resources and to anticipate risks.
  • Consults with program and project sponsors to clarify project directives, scopes, deliverables, and timelines and to analyze risk.
  • Conducts bid sessions and/or vendor RFP efforts to select and manage suppliers and supplier payments.
  • Creates progressive project milestones for facilitating smaller-scale achievements and to motivate the project team.
  • Gathers and analyzes project metrics to evaluate project performance and to manage issues, risk and changes of scope.
  • Communicates with stakeholders, senior management, and project leaders to review project progress, discuss issues and resolutions and to authorize scope changes.
  • Conducts project management research and studies trends and developments under the direction of the PMO Director to support PMO team members and industry colleagues.
  • Determine program goals and priorities in consultation with IT Governance committees, CIO, Directors, or other key stakeholders.
  • Act as primary point of contact for program governance committees, which might include executive and/or steering committees.
  • Prepare regular updates and program status reports to program governance committees, the PMO, and key stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of hospital infrastructure systems, including IT network components.
  • Proven experience coordinating network, desktop, and EMR enablement activities for new or renovated clinical spaces.
  • Ability to manage projects in active healthcare environments with attention to safety, compliance, and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Procore, Kahua, e-Builder) and portfolio/scheduling systems (e.g., OnePlan, MS Project).
  • Excellent skills in communication, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination across Facilities, IT, and Clinical departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • PMP or ITIL certification preferred
  • 7-10 years experience in using formal project management methodology, techniques and tools.
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables: project charter, project plan, status reports, estimates, communication plan, reports, risk management plan, budget, schedule and milestone/deliverable charts.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent projects or a standard or complex size, concurrently.
