Job Summary: Anesthesia Technician ensures the availability of supplies for the provision of anesthesia services. Sets up, stocks and maintains specialty carts and machines, including the exchange of medication trays. Maintains equipment and related supplies in aseptic condition. Cleans and disinfects contaminated medical equipment, retrieving medical equipment and devices from other areas of the hospital. Follow federal, Joint Commission, and organizational guidelines for sterile techniques and infection control. Attends in-services, seminars, or related educational programs. Follow quality assurance procedures during daily activities. Assists with the training of new employees. Set up inventories, and re-stocks specialty carts after each use. Maintains an adequate supply of commonly used items. Cleans and disinfects contaminated anesthesia machines, monitors, cables and other key medical equipment. Attach accessories to anesthesia machines and prepare emergency airway equipment. Perform related responsibilities as required. Work Type: On-site - Works at a physical workplace, interacting with colleagues face-to-face Minimum Required Qualifications: Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Certification - Basic Life Support certification (BLS) Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required): - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment - Ability to follow precise instructions Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of healthcare related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day; 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday; Lifting 50 lbs max; frequent standing & walking and pushing and pulling; Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, and environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
