The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) serves as a transformational leader advancing professional nursing practice and clinical competency through the integration of evidence-based research into care delivery. This role functions across clinical practice, education, consultation, leadership, and scholarly inquiry to improve outcomes for obstetric and postpartum patients.
The CNS provides expert clinical consultation, direct patient care, staff and patient/support network education, and interdisciplinary collaboration while leading research and quality improvement initiatives. The position plays a critical role in supporting high-risk maternal care and ensuring continuity across the obstetric care continuum; which includes Obstetric Emergency, Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Transitions of Care.
Education And Experience Requirements:
Active Delaware RN Licensure or compact state license required.
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license in the state of Delaware required.
Master degree in Nursing (MSN) with completion of CNS program required.
Professional Certification in Healthcare Quality or Patient Safety certification preferred
Minimum five years of relevant clinical and leadership experience
Experience in obstetric and postpartum acute care nursing
BLS certification required.
National CNS certification as required.
