Position: Environmental Services Assistant I
Location: Union Hospital – Cecil Campus
Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Every other weekend | Rotating holidays
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

As a Enviromental Services Assistant I, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. You’ll be part of a team that lives our values of Love and Excellence every day.

💼 What You’ll Do

• Maintain patient, office, and hospital areas in a clean and sanitary condition

• Ensure carts and equipment are clean, safe, and never left unattended

• Restock paper and soap supplies throughout the hospital

• Clean and disinfect precaution rooms per infection control protocols

• Safely remove trash, soiled linen, and used equipment

• Respond promptly to Environmental Services calls and texts

• Report maintenance issues and attend regular training sessions

• Uphold confidentiality and a courteous, service-oriented attitude

🎓 Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

• Minimum of 2 years customer service experience preferred

🧠 Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

• Maintain high personal hygiene standards

• Stand and perform duties for the entire shift

• Use smart devices for job assignments

• Maintain confidentiality and a helpful attitude

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
