Join Our Team at Wilmington Hospital – Diet Clerk I (Food & Nutrition Services)

Location: Wilmington Hospital
Department: Food and Nutrition Services
Schedule: Rotating 8-hour shifts

• 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
• 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
• 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM

Candidates must be available to work a combination of all shift times, including every other weekend and participation in a holiday rotation.

About the Role

ChristianaCare is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Diet Clerk I to join our Food and Nutrition Services team at Wilmington Hospital. In this vital role, you’ll ensure patients receive meals that align with their dietary needs and preferences, while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting clinical nutrition goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with meal selections based on prescribed diets
• Collaborate with dietitians to support nutritional care plans
• Monitor tray assembly and ensure meal accuracy
• Conduct patient satisfaction surveys and resolve food-related concerns
• Input data into CBORD system and generate reports
• Support tube feeding delivery and monitor patient tolerance
• Train new staff and support trayline operations
• Maintain compliance with safety and food handling regulations

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Post-secondary nutrition coursework or Certified Dietary Manager preferred
• Previous experience in food service or clerical work in a healthcare setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of therapeutic diets

Hourly Pay Range: $18.19 - $26.37This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
