🍽️ About the Role

As a Food Service Assistant I, you’ll play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals and warm service to our patients. From assembling trays to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, your work will directly support healing and comfort.

Position Title: Food Service Assistant I
Location: Wilmington Hospital
Employment Type: Casual (Minimum 10–12 hours per week)
Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts

• Morning: 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
• Evening: 3:45 PM – 7:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Important: Candidates must be available to work a combination of both morning and evening shifts.

Note: This is a casual position and is not eligible for benefits.

• Assemble patient meal trays with accuracy and care

• Prepare trays for modified diets and understand dietary restrictions

• Operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficiently

• Maintain cleanliness and follow infection prevention protocols

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
