ChristianaCare is looking for a Patient Guide to greet patients and visitors arriving at Christiana Care and issue visitor passes as needed. Provide a wheelchair, give directions, and answer questions and monitor parking lots.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patients and visitors in and out of their vehicles
• Assist patients/visitors with wheelchairs and transporting them to their destination as needed
• Coordinate and assist with traffic flow, and parking operations at assigned location
• Answer patients/visitors questions, and provide directions as needed
• Report suspicious or dangerous activity at entrance/parking lots to public safety to ensure patient, visitor, and staff safety
• Assist public safety officers and follow protocols for various code alerts
• Apply excellent customer service skills and ChristianaCare core values to support patients and visitors
• Perform related duties and other ancillary tasks as needed per management

Hours: Monday through Friday 12:30p - 9p

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Graduate preferred

Customer Service Experience

Driver's license in good standing

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

• Excellent verbal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and the general populace.
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic
• Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary customer service
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to maintain knowledge and communicate said knowledge verbally
• Ability to drive and operate various vehicles
• Good physical condition, with the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Good hearing and eyesight, and possess the capacity of driving and performing overall job tasks safely.
• Perform job requirements in various types of weather and conditions

Physical demands:

Must be able to lift 20lbs and push patients in wheelchairs.

Working conditions:

Frequent exposure to various weather conditions often for extended periods

Occasional exposure to bodily fluids

Occasional exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes and fluids

Hourly Pay Range: $16.50 - $23.93This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
