Location: Christiana Hospital – Newark, DE
Schedule: Casual (minimum of 8 hours weekly)
Shifts: Primarily 4:30 PM – 8:15 PM | Every other weekend + 1 weekday minimum | Holiday rotation required
*Additional weekday hours and occasional 10-hour shifts may be available!

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver meals and snacks to patients with care and accuracy.
• Collect and process patient menu selections using an iPad.
• Adjust menus based on dietary needs and physician orders.
• Provide exceptional customer service and practice service recovery.
• Maintain a clean and organized pantry and service area.
• Collaborate with nursing and nutrition staff to ensure patient satisfaction.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months of food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret diet orders and perform basic math.
• Comfort using technology (iPads) for menu collection.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout your shift.
• Must pass a physical exam and be drug-free.
• Comfortable working in patient care areas with potential exposure to cleaning chemicals and infectious diseases.

This position has a starting rate of $18.08 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
