Principal duties and responsibilities:
Provides clinical leadership and oversight of the WOC nursing team, including supervision of staff and performance management
Consults with physicians regarding the patient’s condition, diagnosis and treatment plan
Assists in the management of complex wounds
Initiates referrals for appropriate resources and services, promoting a collaborative approach to patient care
Informs, counsels and educates individuals and families on their specific wound care related health problems
Attends, participates in discharge planning and multi-disciplinary case conferences and/or family meetings to promote high quality of care
Participates in interprofessional protocol and program development
Serves as a resource to providers and other caregivers regarding wound and ostomy protocols, procedures and practices
Education and experience requirements:
Minimum 5 years wound, ostomy and continence experience primarily in the adult population
Wound Ostomy Continence Certification (CWOCN or the combined CWON & CCCN) required.
Must possess or be able to obtain a Delaware State RN license
Current BLS required
