ChristianaCare Adaptive Radiation Therapy is looking for an Access Coordinator.

This position will be located at ChristianaCare Concord Health Center 161 Wilmington-West Chester Pike, Suite 1300 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. You would manage the authorization process, sends admit forms to the Admitting Department, schedules patients for imaging procedures, and enters EMR data.

Adaptive Radiation Therapy is an advanced radiation treatment method that adjusts a patient's daily treatment plan based on changes in their body and tumor, especially beneficial for treating cancers in areas with anatomical shifts, such as the lungs, gastrointestinal tract, prostate, and gynecological sites. Adaptive Radiation Therapy is a significant advancement in cancer treatment, offering improved precision and personalized radiation delivery, potentially leading to better outcomes and reduced side effects.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pmTuesdays
  • 90-day training will occur at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and Research Institute in Newark, Delaware

Duties / Responsibilities:

As an Access Coordinator you will be is responsible for authorization and coordinating with the Admitting Department within the ChristianaCare. The Access Coordinator will use Evicore Healthcare Forms, collaborate with Billing Representatives, and respond to Quality Check Lists to avoid delays in treatments. The Access Coordinator will obtain authorization from insurance companies, enter approved authorization numbers, case numbers, expiration dates, and number of approved visits in the patient's EMR and Soarian, communicate with Radiation Oncologist when insurance denies coverage, schedule peer-to-peer, and collaborate with Finance if an appeal process is necessary. The Access Coordinator will schedule patients for imaging services, and inform patients of scheduled exam dates, time, and location. The Access Coordinator respond to hospital billing representatives and make workflow adjustments to accommodate patient volume surges.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Business/Medical related field preferred

  • 2 years' experience in a medical, or financial institution preferred

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
