Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation at ChristianaCare is located at 501 West 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation at ChristianaCare is Delaware’s first and most comprehensive outpatient office for patients with memory disorders and their families. Approximately 19,000 people across Delaware are coping with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. The Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation offer patients and their families essential support, education, and guidance from diagnosis through treatment.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday 8:30am – 5pm
  • Travel maybe required to Smyrna practice 2x a month

Duties / Responsibilities:
As a medical assistant you will be involved with greeting and supporting patients both virtually and on-site within the practice, preparing them for virtual visits, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, ensuring EMR is up-to-date, handling patient call backs, sterilizing medical equipment, handling prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills, scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance, performing clerical duties, troubleshooting patient issues with video visits, and supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
