ChristianaCare Supportive & Palliative Care at Elkton is looking for a Medical Assistant.

ChristianaCare Supportive & Palliative Care at Elkton is located at 111 West High Street, Suite 203 in Elkton, Maryland. ChristianaCare Supportive & Palliative Care at Elkton team provides comfort to our patients with advanced chronic and serious illness, and to their families. The team seek to address our patients fears and anxieties, lessen their pain and symptoms, and improve their quality of life. We emphasize communication, continuity, and coordination of care.


ChristianaCare Supportive & Palliative Care at Elkton can even help our patients make decisions about their medical care, including recommendations for medication and referrals as needed.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm

Duties / Responsibilities:
As a medical assistant you will be involved with greeting and supporting patients both virtually and on-site within the practice, preparing them for virtual visits, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, ensuring EMR is up-to-date, handling patient call backs, sterilizing medical equipment, handling prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills, scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance, performing clerical duties, troubleshooting patient issues with video visits, and supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
