Assistant Nurse Manager - Postpartum
Shift: Day/Evening
Hours: Full-time 40 hours weekly | (4) 10-hour shifts or (5) 8-hour shifts per week
Location: Newark W&C Building
ChristianaCare is currently seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Postpartum Unit in the Women's & Children's Center at Christiana Hospital. The Postpartum Unit (6M/7M) is a 72-bed inpatient unit that cares for postpartum patients and their stable newborns in the Women’s and Children’s Building on the Newark campus.
The average length of stay is 2-3 days post birth and the unit supports rooming in and family centered care. A couplet care model is utilized so that an RN will be assigned both the delivered parent as well as the newborn as a portion of their overall assignment. A nursery is maintained primarily for emergency management or for short term convalescent care. Postpartum staff also support the care of newborns in our substance withdrawal program.
