ChristianaCare Medical Advantage Program at Milford is looking for an Office Assistant.

The Medical Advantage Program at Milford is located at 701 N. DuPont Blvd in Milford, Delaware. Medical Advantage Program at Milford is a comprehensive initiative that focuses on preventive care and chronic disease management for patients aged 65 and above. The Medical Advantage Program at Milford providers will play a crucial role in addressing the growing healthcare needs of Sussex County, especially among older adults. Sussex County, a "Medically Underserved Area," is expected to experience a significant population increase from 237,000 in 2022 to over 361,000 by 2050, thereby increasing the demand for primary care services. ChristianaCare provides personalized, patient-centered care to meet the growing demand for primary and specialty care in Sussex County, particularly among older adults.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm or 7am to 4pm

Duties / Responsibilities:

As an office assistant you will be involved with scheduling appointments, interacting with patients professionally, and ensuring patient confidentiality. Collecting demographic and financial information, processing referrals, and verifying insurance reimbursement eligibility. An office assistant will be involved in day-end reconciliation of appointments and payments received. You will need to answer phone calls professionally, relays messages to providers, and communicates with providers and staff through electronic medical records (EMR). You will keep patients informed about issues and facilitate tests, labs, and appointments. An office assistant prepares medical records, research issues, and respond to patients professionally. Assist with administrative tasks and adhere to departmental safety rules.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Medical receptionist or medical assistant degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a medical office setting or customer service environment is preferred but not required.
