ChristianaCare Hope Center Medical Respite Program is looking for a Senior Medical Assistant.

ChristianaCare Hope Center Medical Respite Program is located at 365 Airport Road in New Castle, Delaware. ChristianaCare Hope Center Medical Respite Program began in 2022, through an agreement with New Castle County, ChristianaCare leases the entire 6th floor at the Hope Center which consists of 36 rooms and use it for hospital patients ready to be discharged but are experiencing homelessness, or housing instability.

This role will be 50% administrative and 50% clinical.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 8am – 5pm

Duties / Responsibilities:

As a senior medical assistant you will rooming patients for virtual and on-site procedures, taking and recording patient vitals, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, ensuring EMR is up-to-date, ensuring adequate staff coverage, participating in new hire orientation, handling patient call backs, sterilizing medical equipment, handling prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills, scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance, performing clerical duties, ordering and maintaining office clinical supplies, and performing other related duties as required.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
  • 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is required; 3 years’ experience is preferred.
