Team Lead, Issuing Sales

Adyen Issuing enables businesses to create and manage their own physical or virtual cards fully integrated into Adyen’s single platform. By combining issuing with our acquiring and account capabilities, companies can instantly make funds available, control spending, and create new revenue streams.

From marketplaces paying out sellers faster, to travel and gig platforms simplifying supplier payments, to enterprises reimagining corporate spend, Issuing provides flexibility, speed, and control at scale. This growing pillar reflects Adyen’s vision to power the next generation of embedded financial experiences, backed by our global banking licenses and single, interoperable platform.

The focus will be on enterprise and platform businesses using Adyen Issuing to embed card capabilities directly into their ecosystems, helping them improve cash flow, streamline operations, and deliver better financial experiences to their users.

Leading Adyen’s Issuing Sales Team

As our Team Lead, Issuing Sales you will drive global commercial strategy for our Issuing business, partnering with leading technology platforms and enterprise clients to unlock new issuing use cases across payouts, spend management, treasury and embedded finance.

The scope of this role includes leading our enterprise sales team from either our San Francisco or New York office. The central goal of this role is to continue and accelerate the scale of our strong growth through individual impact and in the execution of the Sales team.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader and relationship-builder with a consultative, commercial mindset. They thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and excel at managing teams, and leveraging their professional network to drive pipeline, generate opportunities, and deliver measurable business impact. As a pivotal member of the North American commercial organization, this individual will accelerate growth while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

What you’ll do

  • Report into the Head of Sales, Platforms and Financial Services, leading, and scaling a Sales Team to meet growth targets and capture demand for Adyen Issuing across segments and verticals.
  • Get involved in the largest, most strategic deals, managing executive relationships and helping the team get the deal over the finish line.
  • Become a critical member of the NA Sales Management Team, working hand-in-hand with counterparts in Account Management, Marketing, Sales, and Product to achieve our mission in North America.
  • Be a purposeful and empathetic change agent, embracing the ways of selling that make Adyen unique while bringing a fresh perspective on how we can operate at scale.

Who you are

  • A leader with three or more years of experience and a proven track record of scaling a sales organization.
  • Five or more years of experience in payments or financial technology, with experience in issuing, card programs, or embedded finance considered a strong plus.
  • Extensive experience in an enterprise B2B context with long, complex, multi-threaded, and consultative sales cycles.
  • Skilled at maintaining senior executive relationships and helping close large, strategic deals.
  • Data-driven in decision-making, goal-setting, and success measurement, while remaining hands-on and focused on qualitative success factors.
  • Pragmatic, high-energy, and creative in dealmaking, leading from the front lines rather than behind the desk.
  • An empathetic leader who can inspire and guide change with clarity and conviction.

Compensation: Base salary of $260,000–$300,000 plus commissions and RSUs. This range is based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
